Evaluating Sexual Harassment against Female Workers in Higher Institutions in Anambra State, Nigeria

Sexual harassment like any negative job antecedents is one of the workplace vices which organizations attempt to checkmate in order create conducive atmosphere for employees thrive. In Nigeria, lack legislative efforts and enforcement extant laws have increased vulnerability. This study therefore attempts evaluate incidence impacts it may on workers most likely affect organizational efficiency effectiveness. Using a descriptive design, evaluated patterns sexual harassment, prevalence consequences higher institutions Anambra State, Nigeria. The sample comprised 312 female from three State whose ages ranged 23yrs mean age 37.50yrs standard deviation 2.40. Data were collected with aid 31-item questionnaire. Reliability instrument was ascertained at determined Cronbach alpha coefficient 0.71. result analysis revealed high among 69.4% (X = 3.9) verbal being common type 73.7% prevalence. Job insecurity identified as leading views 67.2% 3.4) other consequences. Considering outcomes workplace, recommended that climate education sector be protected by enablement gender free working environment thriving both males females especially who are victims this part world while prosecuting reported cases.
